Accessing Service
Cancellations are to be made with at least 24 hours notice.
I do, however, recognize that life happens and it is not always possible to provide 24 hours notice. Please contact me as soon as you determine that you need to cancel and we can talk about it. No-shows may be billed for the full regular cost of a session.
Receipts are available for those with extended health benefits (for social work/ psychotherapy services). I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (Registration #816408).
*Please note: I hope that anyone who would like to access counselling is able to do so and, as such, if the fee is a barrier for you, I encourage you to contact me so that we can discuss your situation.
I genuinely believe in the importance of having a good “fit” with one’s therapist, and am pleased to offer a no-cost ‘meet-and-greet’ phone call to help you decide if I would be the right person to work with.
As some may not feel like there’s a good connection, I would still encourage you to continue your exploration, and recommend searching the following websites which may help you find someone else:
Ontario Association of Social Workers - http://www.findasocialworker.ca/ON/en/default.asp
The College of Psychologists of Ontario - https://members.cpo.on.ca/public_register/new

A Note for Youth:
In general, confidential counselling services - and health services - are available to anyone over the age of 12. This means that you can access counselling without having to have your parents involved. There are some topics that adults do have to know about, like if you are at risk of being hurt or are a risk of hurting yourself or someone else. For what it is worth, these rules apply to adults as well - but virtually all other topics are confidential.
What does this mean for you if you want to see a counsellor like me who has a charge for services? It is actually quite simple. Get in touch with me and we'll see what we can do. We may be able to work something out. Or maybe we could connect for a few sessions until we can get you in touch with a service that does not have a cost. Or we might figure out a way to talk with your parents about how you're feeling and, as a group, we come up with a plan. Please don’t hesitate to reach out so that we see what the options are, okay?
