Thank you for your visit.
The decision to access counselling is a personal one.
Whether you've been to a counsellor before, or you are just starting to explore the options, thank you. Not just for reading this - but for taking the time to look into what is available and what may be right for you.
While friends and family are ideal to help with some issues, and there are other problems that are more appropriate to work through on your own, there may be a time in which reaching out to a counsellor may be the best choice.
People generally come to therapy for a reason, such as a specific event that they would like to discuss, or to work through uncomfortable emotions.
What types of concerns might be addressed in counselling?
- Stress
- Adjusting to major life events (marriage/ divorce, beginning/ ending employment, moving)
- Living with chronic health problems
- Feelings of anxiety or depression
- Disordered eating and/or body image issues
- Poor self-esteem
- Mental health concerns
- Parenthood, parent/child conflict, and adoption
- Issues in relationships
- Sexuality (sexual identity, sexual orientation, alternative lifestyles) and gender identity
- Grief and loss
- Trauma
- Any other challenges that may be interfering with your day-to-day life
Together, we can prioritize goals, explore and work through issues, develop new coping strategies, and create a plan to determine next steps.
It is important to recognize that every person and life situation is unique, and, as such, each problem will use a different set of tools to overcome it. In collaboration, we will identify a therapeutic approach that focuses on your strengths.
Please take care of yourself.
