Background
I began my career as an advocate for children and youth mental health services. Using this passion, I entered into the field of social work and have been supporting children, youth, adults, and families to address life’s challenges ever since.
Most recently, I have worked within the fields of emergency medicine, adult mental health, childbirth/ postpartum, and Medical Assistance in Dying. I also consider myself privileged to be a member of the Province of Ontario's Emergency Medical Assistance Team and have deployed to assist with the suicide crisis in the Attawapiskat First Nation (2016), and the COVID-19 Quarantine Response (2020). Furthermore, I have worked towards developing my skills as a facilitator and a presenter. I truly enjoy being able to share information with others and encouraging individuals to learn and grow.
Using principles from strengths-based, solution-focused therapy, I provide short-term/ crisis counselling, psychotherapy, and system navigation for a wide variety of people. I also regularly use skills from both cognitive, and dialectical, behaviour therapy (CBT and DBT) to support my therapeutic interventions.
